if this website also covered the american second tier of pro soccer, the USL (which is also chasing a trophy at the end of the season), it would be just about perfect. is this still the website that claims to report “the world of soccer with an american voice”? you guys do everything else right, you just lack the USL coverage, that’s all. what is more important to american soccer fans, christiano Ronaldo scored for juventus (no connections) or if freddie adu scores for las vegas lights in the usl (important connections there). to be fair, ten years ago, the answer would have probably been different. public perceptions shift over time. you can delay shifting your news reporting if you like, but i think the fact is that the usl is growing bigger and more important with each passing month, and harder to ignore for those who seek to report “the world of soccer with an american voice,” i think.

Bolt played the first game of his pro career Friday evening in Australia, taking the pitch as a substitute as his Central Coast Mariners mopped up Central Coast Football’s exhibition squad, 6-1. The eight-time gold medalist entered the game in the 71st minute and got some limited touches, but failed to find the back of the net in his debut.”
