Sargent, Robinson dealing with injuries ahead of USMNT’s game against England

One of the bright young stars on the U.S. Men’s National Team roster for the November friendlies in Europe is in danger of missing out on Thursday’s clash with England.

On Tuesday, Josh Sargent trained on the side, as he works through a right ankle injury.

With 48 hours until kickoff, the status of the Werder Bremen forward is unclear, which would make Bobby Wood, the only other striker on the roster, the clear favorite to start at Wembley Stadium.

The USMNT also received a blow at another position that lacks depth, as left back Antonee Robinson was seen on crutches after Tuesday’s practice.

Jorge Villafana and Shaq Moore would be the starting options at left back if Robinson, who has been a consistent fixture in the starting XI recently, is unable to go.

    • I agree. It’s becoming silly. He doesn’t get playing time for a La Liga 2 team. How is he even considered?

Lichaj or any American who starts consistently in MLS should be ahead of him

      • Pulisic carries an injury is very likely. He came out in the 60th minute in the last game he played for Dortmund, and he banged the dugout cover with his fist out of frustration as he headed towards the bench. He never came in (not even good for a minute?) against Bayern Munich this past weekend. I’ve been wondering if Pulisic was injured again 2 games ago. Anyone know what happened?

    • What is the incentive for an injured player carrying a knock to play for a caretaker coach they may not respect in games that not only don’t count which aren’t building towards the new coach’s mission?
