U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Tyler Adams has been tossed right into the thick of things with Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig.

The 19-year-old made his debut on Saturday in Leipzig’s 1-1 friendly draw against Turkish giants Galatasaray, coming on as a second-half substitute.

Adams came on in the 46th minute and finally got to play in front of his new fans.

Despite having a 1-0 haltime lead, Leipzig would concede a 55th minute equalizer to Martin Linnes.

Adams became the latest USMNT player to take his talents to Germany, now joining Josh Sargent, Weston McKennie, Christian Pulisic, and several others.

RB Leipzig, currently fourth in the Bundesliga, returns to domestic play next Saturday against leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Adams meanwhile will be hoping to make his Bundesliga debut for this new club.

  1. Word was he was not as good today in his start (Sunday). That should be somewhat expected playing on back to back days. Matthew Doyle of Mlsoccer.com panned Adams performance on Saturday as well, perhaps he didn’t get the memo that MLS is now a selling league and he’s supposed to support players who leave now.

  2. One thing I love about this kid is his confidence on the ball. In front of a foreign crowd, in his first debut for the club, he is calling for the ball and making smart plays. I hope he continues to play with this type of mentality. Awesome

  3. I hope he can earn regular mins this season but I hope he gets used in the right position and not bounced around like Mckennie just because he’s good at a few and not great at one. They both cover some much space and can break up plays so I hope they both can become regulars in the middle for their clubs in the near future.
