Report: Brondby has first offer for Sabbi rejected by Hobro

Emmanuel Sabbi has been linked to several teams and one of Denmark’s top sides have seen their first bid rejected by Hobro for his services.

According to Danish outlet B.T. Sport, Hobro has rejected Brondby’s original bid for Sabbi and want at least €1 million for the forward. Sabbi has been linked with a move away from Hobro, despite coming off his best season yet for the Danish side.

Sabbi’s agent previously stated that clubs in 10 European countries have interest in the forward, including the likes of Belgium, Portugal, and Turkey.

The 22-year-old scored eight goals this season, including three in the Danish relegation playoffs. He made 31 appearances in all competitions while also contributing three assists.

He’s also won two caps with the U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team this season, but has yet to crack the senior squad.

Brondby finished fourth in the Danish Superliagen in 2018-19, qualifying for the Europa League playoffs. Kamil Wilczek was their top goalscorer with 21 league goals in 33 matches.

  1. I hope, he goes to Brondby! A lot of Danish people from that region, vacation in the southeast, part of the US. It would be cool to hear people from a different country, speak on a American futbol player. Similar to when Dempsey & Howard played for Fulham & Everton. Salute to his determination! He’s gutting it out in Europe, as opposed to the MLS. No knock on the MLS, I just think, it’s good to have US players playing abroad. As we’ve seen, there has been a exodus, by Americans, from European leagues.

  2. Young man will hopefully continue to move up in the league, move to better teams, make good money, and develop further.

    • Curious, why do you say that? I’ve seen the kid play, in fact I’ve seen him play live in Denmark (before I knew he was American) , while I don’t think Sabbi is a upper tier player in a Top 5 league, I have no problem saying he could hack it with a big club in Denmark, Turkey, Belgium, or English Championship. Sabbi is fast, has above average ball skills, fearless going forward, above average soccer IQ, and had a habit of showing up and performing in big games – i.e. relegation playoffs. He’s clearly not a 2nd / 3rd division guy.
