This Weekend’s Soccer on TV is headlined by a pair of matches in Africa’s continental tournament, the Africa Cup of Nations.
The first of the two Sunday matches will feature Senegal and Tunisia. The latter of the pair will see Algeria and Nigeria meet.
Major League Soccer is also heading into an exciting weekend filled with high profile matches. The Hudson River Derby featuring New York City FC and the New York Red Bulls is amongst the excitement. Atlanta United will visit the Seattle Sounders on Sunday in a matchup featuring two of the league’s bests.

Cruz Azul vs. Necaxa was on Univisión, not only UDN, which is a premium network. It would be helpful if you could list over-the-air broadcasts first, as they will be available to more viewers.

I only caught snatches of the game, but apparently the entire Necaxa defense had a pretty bad day, losing 0-4, with Ventura Alvarado being partly at fault for one or two of the goals. I was hoping he would do well, as Necaxa had been much better in the second half of the season (Clausura) than the first, and his coach really seems to trust him, not only as a consistent starter but as the team captain. But that may just mean that the rest of the defense isn’t all that strong, as it’s not one of the huge, rich teams.

The other Liga MX game, América vs. Tigres, will also be on Univisión main network, though there aren’t any US players involved.
