In the concluding weekend of Premier League action, things are all knotted up in the race to guarantee Champions League play for next season.
All eyes will be on Sunday’s ultra high stakes matchup where Leicester and Manchester United go head to head, and the Foxes desperately need all three points. Both sides are coming off disappointing results, with Leicester taking a 3-0 loss to Tottenham, and Manchester United getting blown away by Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinal last weekend, and settled for a 1-1 draw with West Ham on Wednesday.
On the opposite end of the table, Bournemouth, Watford, Brighton, and Aston Villa are all fighting for top flight survival. Two have to go down with the long gone Norwich City, and all will be taking the field at the same time, making for a dramatic Sunday.
Domestically, Sunday will be a trophy day in the National Women’s Soccer League’s 2020 Challenge Cup. The competition final features the Houston Dash battling against 2019 NWSL runner-up Chicago Red Stars.
Additionally, the MLS is Back tournament moves on to the round of 16 from the bubble in Florida. The host team Orlando City kicks off the action against Montreal Impact on Saturday.

NBC has so many channels, it seems they could easily afford to offer the games more US viewers want to watch. The same is true of Fox, ESPN, and Univisión — and especially over recent months, when hardly any other live sports have been available at all, but the sports networks have persisted in filling up their schedules with dull reruns and talk shows about non-soccer sports.

But the trend now seems to be not to try to satisfy viewers or maintain loyalty, but to try to push everyone to buy more additional subscriptions and be fed more targeted ads, whether via premium cable or via streaming. It’s bad news for soccer fans, if they end up being offered less soccer on the whole via the most accessible TV channels.

The only kind of protest I can imagine having any effect this weekend would be to write in and ask about Chelsea, Arsenal, etc. on live social media. The networks are always soliciting comments, and they only ever seem to show pets and babies. What about some pics with posters and signs asking for the games people want?
Hang on, I spoke too soon. I thought it was odd if NBC wasn’t using as many other channels as they usually do on the last day, and sure enough, they are — the list here may have just been incomplete.

Chelsea vs. Wolverhampton should indeed be a really good game, and according to my schedule, it will be on both USA Network and Telemundo.

Everton vs. Bournemouth is on CNBC, and Arsenal vs. Watford is on the Golf channel.

Why in the world would the Chelsea game not be on a nationally televised network? There are European ramifications tied to that result as well as a certain American that could feature prominently? If NBC Universal execs wanted ratings, that game seems like a no-brainer to show
Yeah that’s whack!!! I can understand Leicester and ManU being on NBC, as they both are competing for places in Europe but putting Villa and West Ham on NBCSN ahead of another game with European places on the line in Chelsea vs Wolves is disgraceful, especially when as you said Chelsea have the best American player in our pool playing in it smfh….I’d love to hear the rationale behind this!
