Sebastian Soto is finding his groove with Dutch side Telstar with his most recent performance helping the club snap a three-match winless run.
Soto scored his first brace for the club in a 2-0 league win over Helmond Sport on Friday. His goal tally has been increased to four this season since arriving on loan from EFL Championship side Norwich City.
The American came off the bench as a halftime substitute and scored his first goal came in the 49th minute after great skill inside of the box. A cross from Welat Cagro found Soto on the right side of the box, allowing him to volley the pass into the top corner.

Soto capped off his Man of the Match performance in the 63rd minute, heading home an assist from Shayne Pattynama. Pattynama missed his prior effort, but set up Soto in the process who made no mistake from close range.
Telstar would hold on for a 2-0 victory at home in front of limited fans, moving to seventh place in the Eerste Divisie table.

Soto and his teammates will next travel to Heracles Almelo in the KNVB Cup before returning to league play on Nov. 2nd against Jong AZ.
I think his actions are based on him seeing Dest, KDLF, Richards, and Weah moving to first-team minutes. He is just trying to make up for lost time because of bad advice he got. He is forcing GB to commit to him but it may backfire.

He’s playing at a relatively low level, and not even starting. Yes, he’s a prospect for sure. But all of his gesticulating about a USMNT call up is a turn off and premature. Put your head down, young man, shut up and progress your career. If you’re playing for your parent club next season, MAYBE he should be in the picture. Otherwise, if that’s not fast enough for you, go to Chile and good riddance.
He’s scored 5 goals in 6 appearances, and with a quality of finishing that we don’t have in the talent pool at the moment at his position. If the USA can call in world beaters like Wil Trapp and Daniel Lovitz over and over, who (funny enough) aren’t starters for their very unremarkable MLS Clubs either, then they can call up Soto.

He’s answering questions he’s being asked about his national team eligibility. Additionally, you clearly don’t know much about his current level or the level of his parent club if you think his level of performance wouldn’t merit a call-up for other of them. I doubt you’ve watched much, or any, of of the football being played outside of the MLS or the Premiership. But hey, nice zinger!

You have to give the kid credit for stepping up and performing at a time he knows Chile and USMNT are watching.
