Leandro Gonzalez Pirez. Not only did the veteran centerback score the winner for Inter Miami in a monsoon, but he also helped lead the back line throughout, including during the nervy final few minutes.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH

Pressure-Relieving Golazo. Seldom-used left back Mikey Ambrose stepped into the Inter Miami starting lineup and broke open the deadlock after just 19 minutes with an incredible half-volley effort from outside the penalty area.

MATCH TO FORGET

Frankie Amaya. The FC Cincinnati midfielder never really found the flow of the match and struggled to make things happen against Blaise Matuidi and Co. before making way for Siem de Jong.

Ryan Meara made a pair of game-saving stops a minute apart, first denying Michael Bradley with a kick save before pulling off a diving save on an Alejandro Pozuelo shot in the 58th minute to keep the 2-1 lead.

Match to Forget

Chris Mavinga was beaten on the first Red Bulls goal, then appeared to stop playing as the second Red Bulls goal sequence took place, apparently looking for a whistle that never came.

Jhonder Cadiz sucked the air out of of Exploria Stadium with a winning goal in stoppage time. The substitute’s close-range header handed Nashville an important win and gave Orlando its first home loss of 2020.

Match to Forget

Antonio Carlos was beaten on Nashville’s equalizer, then lost his mark on the winner.
