After a dominant start to open the Serie A season, AC Milan has come back down to earth in recent weeks and now finds itself trailing bitter rival Inter Milan by a point.
It is only a point, but momentum is not on the red side of the rivalry at the moment.
A couple of weeks ago, things got testy in their Coppa Italia quarterfinal matchup where a late Zlatan Ibrahimović red card helped Inter take the spoils and build some serious momentum to the tune of winning its last three league games and march into first place.
Heading into the weekend, Inter will look it make it a four-point lead when the two go head to head on Sunday for a match primed for great viewing. Tensions will run hot once again as they square off for the last time in the 2021 campaign.
In England, we will know more about Liverpool’s status on Saturday.
After slipping and falling to a myriad of lesser quality teams in recent weeks of Premier League play, the Reds may have gotten their mojo back with a precious midweek Champions League win over RB Leipzig.
Merseyside Derby rival Everton stands in their way though, and it’s a battle of 6th vs 7th in the Premier League ranks, and a win should catapult one back into the top four.

At least CBS All Access is only about $6 per month. Peacock is about $6 per month. ESPN+ is about 6$ per month. All three offer replays of most games they cover (Premier league Champions League, Europa league, Bundesliga, SerieA).
Fanitz is $8 per month it carries BEIN and more South American leagues,but I cannot see that it offers replays for much of its content.
I gave up on Directv as its price kept climbing and its soccer coverage kept dropping. Now I use YouTubeTV and Prime Video for TV and Movies, with Peacock, ESPN+ and CBS all access, the total comes in under $100 per month, considerably less than DirecTV at over $200 per month. Of course there was a one-time cost of a Roku and it gives me access to more soccer matches than I can watch.
OTOH, I don’t know what will happen with MLS yet, DirecTV had a good MLS package.
for those who are counting, a grand total of 1 game on NBC, 7 on Bein for those who get it. O on ESPN, 1 ladies on Fox. All the rest on pay to play
I fear this is the new business model. The networks are unhitching from cable and setting up their own secondary networks. So, it will soon be that you have to pay extra to see most soccer games.

Unfortunately the new mentality also seems to be that SBI no longer even looks for games on actual TV to list. This week there are actually two other Saturday games still on NBCSN, Southampton vs. Chelsea and Burnley vs. West Brom, before Liverpool vs. Everton on NBC. But no, those were evidently less important to Ives et al. than a slew of obscure teams from Australia and India.

But it’s true that none of the Sunday EPL games are being broadcast. Why? Because they obviously needed valuable airtime on NBCSN instead for … wait for it … “American Ninja Warrior.” Giving precedence to sleazy marketing of brain-dead jingoistic testosterone frenzy, over the most popular and challenging sport in the world. Absolutely unbelievable that the Premier League would have sold their valuable games in the first place to a network that refuses to actually show them. But hey, the Bundesliga already did it and shot themselves in the foot, and no one protested, so why not.

It’s also apparently true that the NBCSN channel is going to disappear soon altogether, with some soccer games possibly migrating to USA, others probably continuing to disappear. And the Champions League and Europa League are already now only available on Univisión networks, in Spanish, because no one gets that obscure new CBS sports channel on normal cable, and they don’t even air many games live anyway,

So, I guess I’m just going to be watching less soccer, if no one wants me as a fan. I hope others will also simply boycott streaming, because clearly nothing else will get their attention. You don’t have to pay to hand them access to all your private online data. You can just say no.

I share some of this frustration but the end of cable and rise of streaming are trends too big to stop. For what it is worth consider this: I cut cable years ago because I was sick of paying $200 a month for so much tv I didn’t watch. Now I can get sling (fox and espn), (espn+, disney+, hulu), peacock, cbs all access for around $100 a month. Still need internet, but my overall bill is cheaper and I am getting way more soccer than ever before…
