MLS Week Six Scoreboard: Atlanta United ties Sounders, Union edges D.C. United, and more

Orlando City SC 1, Toronto FC 0 (Final)

(Tesho Akindele 12′)

Matt Stamey-USA TODAY Sports

Man of the Match: Pedro Gallese put in a stellar performance for Orlando City, making five saves to preserve a fourth clean sheet of the season.

Moment of the Match: Gallese’s biggest moments came in stoppage time as the Peruvian denied Nick DeLeon from close range before repelling Yeferson Soteldo’s eventual long range chance.

Match to Forget: Omar Gonzalez was caught out of position on the lone goal of the match, leaving Tesho Akindele wide open to score.

NYCFC 1, Columbus Crew 2 (Final)

(Ismael Tajouri-Shradi 18′) (Lucas Zelarayan 82′, 90+5′)

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Man of the Match: Lucas Zelarayan stole the show with a pair of stunning free kick goals to bring the Crew from 1-0 down to 2-1 winners in the final minutes.

Moment of the Match: Zelarayan’s 95th-minute free kick gave Sean Johnson no chance for a save.

Match to Forget: Sebastian Ibeagha’s last-minute foul gave the Crew the free kick Zelarayan converted for the winner.

FC Dallas 2, Real Salt Lake 2 (2nd Half)

(Franco Jara 43′, Ryan Hollingshead 84′) – (Rubio Rubin 20′, Damir Kreilach 86′)

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Man of the Match: Franco Jara. Jara scored from the penalty spot, but also put in a strong all-around shift offensively. He created three chances, registered four shots on goal, and added three key passes in a 2-2 draw for the hosts.

Moment of the Match: Damir Kreilach helped Real Salt Lake steal a point in the sloppy conditions on the road, answering with an 86th minute equalizer. The midfielder’s header was a quick response after Ryan Hollingshead looked to have stole a win for FC Dallas.

Match to Forget: Jimmy Maurer. Maurer only made one save for FC Dallas, and could’ve done better on his attempt to repel Kreilach’s late header. Instead, the hosts had to settle for one point instead of three.

Revolution 3, Red Bulls 1 (Final)

(Gustavo Bou 37′, Tajon Buchanan 45+2′, Adam Buksa 82′) – (Andres Reyes 7′)

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Man of the Match: Gustavo Bou turned in an outstanding performance, scoring the Revs’ first goal and assisting Adam Buksa’s goal to seal the win. Icelandic left winger Arnor Ingvi Traustason also has a case for man of the match here, as he assisted the Revs’ first two goals.

Moment of the Match: In the second minute of first-half stoppage time, Tajon Buchanan took a slick touch past a defender, then beat another and sidefooted in a precise shot from a tight angle on the left side. Buchanan had played well at right back earlier this season, and continued to excel for the Revs from the right winger position in this game.

Match to Forget: It was a roller coaster of a Red Bulls debut for Andres Reyes, who stepped in at centerback for the injured Aaron Long. He scored the first goal of the game with a corner-kick header. However, the turning point of the match came in the 38th minute, when the 21-year-old Colombian was sent off with his second yellow card.

Dynamo 2, Whitecaps 1 (Final)

(Memo Rodriguez 8′, Maxi Urruti 42′) – (Deyber Caicedo 80′)

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Man of the Match: Memo Rodriguez. Rodriguez scored the opening goal for the Dynamo and also assisted on the winner scored by Maxi Urruti. Rodriguez created the most chances in the match with 4 and showed once again why he is a top playmaking option.

Moment of the Match: Caio Alexandre was denied by Marko Maric in the 67th minute as the goalkeeper stretched to keep the midfielder’s effort out from reaching the top corner. If Maric doesn’t make that save, Houston might not walk away with all three points.

Match to Forget: Maxime Crepeau’s error in the early stages allowed the Dynamo to strike first. He couldn’t push Fafa Picault’s cross away far enough, allowing Rodriguez to pounce and score.

Earthquakes 1, Sporting KC 3 (Final)

(Javier Lopez 5′) – (Jaylin Lindsey 15′, Alan Pulido 60′ Daniel Salloi 75′)

Maciek Gudrymowicz/ISI Photos

Man of the Match: Alan Pulido had one of his best showings in a Sporting uniform, which comes on the heels of a two-goal performance against Vancouver. Pulido scored with an incredible top-corner shot in the 60th minute, but more importantly almost all of Sporting’s attacking momentum ran through him.

Moment of the Match: Jaylin Lindsey tied the game up in the 15th minute. That was the 21-year-old’s first MLS goal. It came because of an excellent run into space by Lindsey and a perfectly placed ball from Pulido.

Match to Forget: Quakes attacking midfielder Andres Rios missed one of San Jose’s best chances in the second half, whiffing on a header directly in front of goal. The Quakes could have tied the match with a goal.

LAFC 2, Rapids 1 (Final)

(Diego Rossi 14′, 33′) (Michael Barrios 50′)

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Man of the Match: Diego Rossi made the most of a pair of excellent assists, with two quality finishes to lead the way for LAFC.

Moment of the Match: Carlos Vela’s return to the starting lineup for LAFC was one of the key highlights, and his assist on Diego Rossi’s second goal gave the fans at Banc of California Stadium reason to celebrate the reunion of their Dynamic Duo.

Match to Forget: Keegan Rosenberry fell victim to Rossi’s runs on both occasions, as he was late to react to Rossi slipping between him and Lalas Abubakar on both LAFC goals.
