  1. Gary, you’re making my ears hurt. The octag isn’t a third done, and you have preordained the outcome. Lets just see how Canada handles their trip to Jamaica today. Canada are good, but they drew Honduras at home. And as an American fan, you should know better than most that having not one player good enough to make another team is of no consequence to the outcome of a third party game, or any game for that matter. Man!!!

    • I’d say that for one game one can never know, but over the course of a tournament the best teams should separate themselves. Attitude and effort certainly count for a lot and the US problem last time was both attitude and effort. It’s clearly not a problem this time since the first couple of games. I’m also going by both the Nation’s League and the Gold Cup where both the US and Mexico ended up in the finals again, in both tournaments.

  2. Ives, you keep going on and on about El Salvador and now Panama. I don’t think either team has even one player who could start for the US. It’s clear by now the top 3 are going to be US, Mexico, and Canada. The only doubt is the play in game and whichever team it is will probably lose the play in game.

    • As Dikranovich stated it’s still a little early. I think by next week your thoughts on top 3 will be set but an injury or two could set things on its head. Heck Mexico getting less than 6 pts against Hon and ES could force a coaching change. If Davies has a significant injury Canada would quickly come back to the field. That’s what makes Concacaf great you never know. As for the 4th place it really depends on the draw, you get New Zealand or an African side I’d say Honduras, CR, ES, Panama have a chance but if it’s Ecuador or Chile no they don’t.

      • Johnny, It’s Asia, not Africa. With the way it is looking right now, it could be Japan. It would be difficult, but they don’t have the players they used to either.

    • I should have said that based on the level of talent within the different teams, etc. Still, while it is a team game, one can’t overlook excellence. Just finished watching Spain vs. France and France once again pulled the game out because they have Mbappe, Griezeman, Benzema, and Pogba. Scoring goals is a very difficult proposition and the top 3 teams in CONCACAF have the best attackers.
