Americans Abroad Midweek Rewind: (McKennie, Robinson, and more)

Juventus might be dipping in the Serie A table, but Weston McKennie helped the club remain undefeated in UEFA Champions League play this week as the Old Lady claimed a fourth group stage win.

McKennie started in the heart of Massimiliano Allegri’s midfield and impressed in a 4-2 triumph over Russian visitors Zenit St. Petersburg. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder did not find the back of the net for the third-consecutive match, but struck the crossbar after a dashing run through midfield and overall delivered a strong shift on both sides of the field.

The 23-year-old completed 88% of his passes in the match and also won four of his seven individual battles on the night. He also made two interceptions and won two of his four aerial battles, continuing his good run of form for the club. Juventus is 4-0-0 now in UCL play this season, three points clear of defending champions Chelsea with two matches to play.

McKennie will now head into USMNT duty for November World Cup Qualifiers against Mexico and Jamaica, as the Americans aim to leapfrog El Tri in the octagonal round standings.

Elsewhere, Christian Pulisic made his return for Chelsea after two months on the sidelines while Tyler Adams went the distance in RB Leipzig’s 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain. Cameron Carter-Vickers helped Celtic claim a 3-2 win over Ferencvaros in Europa League play. Antonee Robinson delivered one assist in Fulham’s lopsided win over Blackburn Rovers while Shaq Moore played 90 minutes for Tenerife.

Here is a closer look at how the Americans Abroad contingent performed this week:
