  1. Sands was very good as a defensive midfielder. GB must have been thrilled to watch him play. Never mind the Honduras game, he clearly has the tools to be an upgrade to Acosta as Adams’ backup.

    In the final game he barely put a foot wrong. He defended quite well, he was open for teammates when they were under pressure. He connected his passes which served either to maintain or initiate possession or to make good, forward, attacking passes.

    The only question is if he can handle the speed-of-play demanded of an international level midfielder.
