The U.S. Women’s National Team will kick off its 2022 schedule with the annual SheBelieves Cup in California and Texas this February.

U.S. Soccer announced on Wednesday that Vlatko Andonovski’s team will be joined by New Zealand, Iceland, and the Czech Republic in the annual tournament at both Dignity Health Sports Park and Toyota Stadium. The tournament will run from February 17-23 and will feature four teams that are currently in FIFA’s Top 25 rankings.

“These will be the first matches of what will be a really important year, and as focus on World Cup qualifying, the SheBelieves Cup will be extremely valuable for the continued development of the team,” said Andonovski. “As a coaching staff, when we are integrating newer players, we need as many games as possible, and all three of our opponents are very hard to play against.

“They will all be highly motivated to have the chance to play in this great tournament, so we’re not only looking forward to competitive matches, but also playing in front of fans, as there was only limited attendance at last year’s tournament in Florida,” Andonovski added.

The USWNT is defending champions of the tournament and will take the field for the first time in 2022 with this competition. It also makes the team’s first tournament involvement following the retirement of longtime attacker Carli Lloyd.

All four teams will take part in three matches apiece with February 17th, 20th, and 23rd being chosen as match days.

The USWNT will open its three-match schedule on the 17th against the Czech Republic (11 p.m. ET) before facing New Zealand (3 p.m. ET) on the 20th and Iceland on the 23rd (9 p.m. ET).
