Juventus advanced to the Coppa Italia semifinals on Thursday and Weston McKennie was a key part of its win over Sassuolo in Turin.

McKennie logged his first 90 minutes since returning from international duty, helping Juventus claim a 2-1 victory on home soil. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder was all over the place for the Bianconeri, hitting the crossbar once, and also winning six of his nine total duels in the match. McKennie also completed 31 of his 40 passing attempts and was strong in an advanced attacking position alongside Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado.

Juventus has now won four of its last five matches in all competitions and will next visit fifth place Atalanta on Sunday.

In England, Antonee Robinson and Tim Ream helped Fulham to a shutout win over Millwall while Marlon Fossey also was on the victorious side for Bolton Wanderers.

In Scotland, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Christian Ramirez went head-to-head, but it was Carter-Vickers and Celtic who walked away with three points. Ian Harkes also went the distance in Premiership action.

Elsewhere, Haji Wright closed out a 2-0 victory for Turkish club Antalyaspor with a late goal.

  1. If we keep talking about bringing in players that are in form why are we not looking at Christian Ramirez. Every time I read these round ups it seems like he has played 90 minutes and scored a goal.
