Norwich City may have walked away with a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Saturday but Josh Sargent delivered a strong shift at Anfield for the Canaries.
Sargent assisted on Norwich City’s lone goal of the match, connecting with Milot Rashica in the second half. The U.S. men’s national team forward held possession of the ball in the 48th minute before passing to Rashica, who beat Alisson for a 1-0 Norwich City advantage. It was Sargen’t first Premier League assist since his arrival last summer from Werder Bremen.
The 22-year-old finished the match with 76 minutes under his belt and also won eight of his 13 duels in the match, showing once again he can deliver positive moments on the wing. Norwich City remains bottom of the league standings, but will remain confident ahead of easier matches against Southampton and Brentford over the next two weeks.
In England, Christian Pulisic played the full 90 minutes as Chelsea defeated London rivals Crystal Palace 1-0 away from home. Duane Holmes got the last laugh on international teammates Antonee Robinson and Tim Ream as Huddersfield Town defeated Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage.
In Germany, John Brooks delivered his latest strong performance but Wolfsburg fell 2-1 at home to Hoffenheim. Tyler Adams assisted once off of the bench as RB Leipzig rolled past Hertha Berlin. Gio Reyna suffered an injury in Borussia Dortmund’s romp in his first start since September for club and country.
In Spain, Sergino Dest got the nod for Barcelona and played the full 90 minutes in a 4-1 road victory over Valencia. Matt Miazga started in Deportivo Alaves’ backline but the club could not avoid a 3-0 loss to Real Madrid.
In France, Timothy Weah came off of the bench for Lille in a scoreless draw with Metz. Konrad De La Fuente did not dress for Marseille due to a manager’s decision.
Elsewhere, Reggie Cannon and Boavista earned a 2-2 draw with Benfica in Portuguese league play. Brenden Aaronson scored to help Red Bull Salzburg earn a 2-0 win over Wolfsberger. Ian Harkes and Bryan Reynolds went the distance in strong performances for their clubs.

Pepi came in around the 78′, and the game had around 4 mins extra time, so it was more than 15 mins. He actually played pretty decent for the time he was given. Almost had an assist with a clever knock down header for Finnbogson to run onto, but Icelandic forward couldn’t get there fast enough before the GK knocked it away.
Pepi should start before Gregoritsch. His goals will come once Augsburg provide better service.
Pepi and Finnbogason should start for Augsburg. Pepi is creative and can create something from nothing, and Finnbogason is hard-working, and finishes very well, and also has that element of unpredictability who can create something from nothing. He’s a guy that plays like he bleeds for the shirt.
His contract ends this summer so hope to see him in MLS, because he’s a very good player flying under the radar.
“His goals will come once Augsburg provide better service.”
Well that’s true for him with the USMNT as well.
And just about as likely.
He’s clearly talented. I’m not sure Augsburg was the best place to go so he’s just going to have to do it the old fashioned way and work his butt off, mostly by his lonesome self. That’s what Clint had to do so hopefully, it will work out as well for Ricardo. At least he has some money.
Amon scored a goal Monday for the reserves against Copenhagen Reserves. No info on how many minutes he played but he scored in the 88th.
