The U.S. women’s national team’s 2022 schedule just got even busier with a pair of home friendlies later this spring.
Vltako Andonovski’s side will face off with Uzbekistan in Columbus, Ohio and Chester, Pennsylvania on April 9 and 12 respectively. It will be the first-ever meeting between the two countries.
Lower.com Field and Subaru Park have been chosen as venues for the friendlies this April, which will be the USWNT’s first action since the SheBelieves Cup. It will be the USWNT’s first trip to Lower.com Field in Columbus and its eighth match at Subaru Park.
Uzbekistan is ranked 45th in the world and seventh in Asia per the FIFA Women’s Rankings. Uzbekistan played in the Turkish Women’s Cup during the February FIFA window, defeating Lithuania 1-0, losing to Ukraine 2-0 and drawing with Venezuela, 0-0.
This will be the latest set of preparations for the USWNT ahead of the Concacaf Women’s Championship, which takes place in Mexico from July 4-18.
