For the first time in two years, the U.S. Under-19 men’s national team will join up for its first training camp under a new head coach.
Marko Mitrovic announced a 33-player camp roster on Thursday, which will run from April 22-May 1, concurrently with the USMNT U-20 camp at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. It will be Mitrovic’s first look at the USMNT U-19 player pool since being hired as head coach earlier this week.
Seattle Sounders midfielder Reed Baker-Whiting, Minnesota United’s Fred Emmings, and Houston Dynamo forward Brooklyn Raines headline the 33 players called into camp. Only two of the 33 players play abroad with Robert Deziel Jr. currently at Bayern Munich and Rodrigo Neri at Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
All 33 players at this training camp are age-eligible for this summer’s 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship in Honduras, which serves as qualification for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2024 Olympics.
Several of the players called into camp have featured in the new MLS NEXT Pro league, which is four weeks into its inaugural regular season.
