Americans Abroad Midweek Preview: Adams, Busio, and more

Tyler Adams delivered a strong performance in RB Leipzig’s first leg victory at Scottish side Rangers last week in UEFA Europa League play, but now the American will aim for similar success in Glasgow to help the Bundesliga visitors clinch a spot in the final.

Adams logged 90 minutes as RB Leipzig defeated Rangers 1-0 on Thursday, delivering a strong shift in one of his rare starts in 2022. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder has been in and out of Domenico Tedesco’s lineup this season, but looks to have earned a role in the European competition. The 23-year-old did not feature in RB Leipzig’s 3-1 loss to Borussia Moenchengladbach on Monday, making him a good option to start at Ibrox Stadium. Should RB Leipzig advance to May 18th’s final, it will face either Eintracht Frankfurt or West Ham United in Seville, Spain.

Elsewhere, Timmy Chandler and Eintracht Frankfurt host West Ham United with a spot in the Europa League Final at stake. Gianluca Busio and Venezia travel to Salernitana in Serie A play while Emmanuel Sabbi and Odense aim to clinch their spot in the Danish DBU Pokalen competition. Joel Sonora, Johnny Cardoso, and Alan Sonora all take part in Copa Sudamericana play.
