Danish club Odense booked its first spot into the DBU Pokalen Final in 15 years on Thursday, with American forward Emmanuel Sabbi contributing greatly in a second leg semifinal victory.

Sabbi started and played 84 minutes, scoring his third goal of the season across all competitions in a 3-0 win over Sonderjyske. The 24-year-old continued a busy first-half for Odense, scoring in the 22nd minute and extending the hosts aggregate lead to 4-0 at the time. Odense would add a third goal of the match just before halftime, truly closing the door on Sonderjyske’s chances of a comeback. Sabbi has helped Odense win six of its last eight matches across all competitions and will now prepare to help the top-flight side bring home the DBU Pokalen trophy on May 26 against Midtjylland.

In South America, Alan Sonora scored his second goal of the Copa Sudamericana tournament to help Independiente win 4-0 on the road in Paraguay over General Caballero JLM.

In Europa League action, James Sands and Timmy Chandler both witnessed their respective clubs book spots in the tournament final after advancing in Thursday’s semfinal action. Tyler Adams and RB Leipzig were eliminated in Glasgow, losing 3-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate.
