I can’t understand this. Why would Puig do this? I’m honestly curious to know what I’m not understanding. Has he fallen out of favor? For Barca, his sell-on clause has got to be worth more if he’s in a mid-table La Liga team. Or maybe he’s a loaner for another year or two. For Puig, his national team chances have got to be better if he stays in Spain. How is this good for anyone but LA? I guess we don’t know what they paid for him.
Before the Galaxy–Chivas game last night, one of the pundits before the game said there are questions about his attitude. Specifically, word is that he is not a team first guy. It’s possible that this reputation is such that other La Liga teams aren’t interested, but that is just speculation on my part.

Because MLS is becoming a very good destination that’s why. And it’s LA. I am sure he sees this as a very good opportunity.
