Americans Abroad Midweek Preview: Pulisic, Sargent, and more

Chelsea’s quest of clinching a knockout stage berth in the UEFA Champions League continues on Wednesday with Christian Pulisic pushing to start in Graham Potter’s squad.

Pulisic has come off the bench in back-to-back league draws for the Blues, showing positive moments against Brentford and Manchester United respectively. The U.S. men’s national team attacker last scored in a 3-0 league victory over Wolves on Oct. 8 and will be seeking continued minutes ahead of the FIFA World Cup this November. Chelsea travels to Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday needing a win to all, but clinch its berth into the Round of 16.

Pulisic is among several attacking players hoping to earn a spot in Chelsea’s starting lineup this week, especially with the stakes high following a 1-1 draw vs. Salzburg back in mid-September.

In England, Josh Sargent and Norwich City visit fellow promotion chasers Burnley.

In Brazil, Johnny Cardoso and Internacional host Ceara in Serie A play.
