Juventus celebrated back-to-back Serie A wins for the first time this season with U.S. men’s national team midfielder Weston McKennie getting on the scoresheet.
McKennie scored his first league goal of the season as Juventus rolled past Empoli 4-0 at the Allianz Stadium. The USMNT midfielder earned his third-consecutive start for Juventus and helped contribute in a three-goal second half for the Old Lady.
After Moise Kean’s eighth-minute opener for Juventus, McKennie added to the hosts lead in the 56th minute. McKennie rose high on a corner kick, heading home Juan Cuadrado’s cross for his second overall goal of the season.
Adrien Rabiot added a brace in the final 13 minutes of the match, capping the final score at 4-0 for Massimiliano Allegri’s man. McKennie logged 65 minutes in the match, winning three duels, completing two tackles, and creating two chances.
Juventus moved to seventh in the league table following Friday’s win, sitting on 19 points earned through 11 matches played. Up next for McKennie and his Juventus teammates is a trip to Benfica in UEFA Champions League action.
That’s an exaggeration but he’s probably the guy who is keeping Pefok out of the USMNT.
Is it? His goal scoring record from corners is incredible.
One of the most dangerous players at attacking set pieces in the world
