The U.S. Under-20 men’s national team takes the field for the first time in 2023 as early preparation for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup begins.

Jack McGlynn, Joshua Wynder, and Quinn Sullivan headline Gonzalo Segares’ 23-player roster for the upcoming January camp at IMG Academy in Florida from Jan 19-29. Segares will lead the USMNT U-20 camp as current head coach Mikey Varas joins the USMNT senior team for its pair of friendlies in California.

A total of 13 players return from the USMNT U-20’s title run at last summer’s Concacaf U-20 Championship. The Americans won their third straight confederation title and qualified for both the U-20 World Cup and the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Sullivan was named to the tournament’s Best XI after netting six goals, one behind Golden Boot winner Paxten Aaronson. Tyler Wolff, Antonio Carrera, Mauricio Cuevas, among others also excelled for the USMNT U-20’s in Honduras.

Wynder, Emi Ochoa, and Owen Wolff headline six players who will be seeking their first caps for the USMNT U-20’s. Wynder, a current USL prospect with Louisville City, was a nominee for 2022 U.S. Soccer Young Men’s Player of the Year after a strong year for club and country.
