Thiago Almada is already an early frontrunner for the MLS MVP award and Saturday was another example of his stellar impact for Atlanta United. Almada scored twice and added two assists as the Five Stripes rolled past the Portland Timbers 5-1 in a rematch of the 2018 MLS Cup Final.

Almada’s stunning free kick in the first half helped pave the way to a lopsided home victory for Gonzalo Pineda’s squad.
