Cameron Carter-Vickers was not on the field Saturday at Hampden Park, but it didn’t rule out the American’s stellar season for Scottish Premiership side Celtic.
The 24-year-old watched as Celtic clinched a fifth domestic treble in the past seven seasons, defeating Inverness CT 3-1 in the Scottish Cup Final. Carter-Vickers, whose season ended following the Scottish Cup semifinal victory over Rangers due to a knee injury, lifted his second Premiership title earlier this campaign.
Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada, and Jota all scored goals in the triumph.
Carter-Vickers joined Celtic on a permanent transfer last summer and has since developed into one of the top defenders in the Premiership this season. The former Tottenham centerback totaled 39 combined appearances for Celtic, earning PFA Scotland Premiership Best XI honors
He also appeared in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in his career.
Celtic edged Glasgow rivals Rangers by seven points to the league title and also defeated them in the Scottish League Cup Final.
Carter-Vickers is expected to be back available ahead of the 2023-24 Premiership season.
