Report: Juventus sealing transfer for Timothy Weah

Serie A side Juventus has reportedly added a second U.S. men’s national team player to its ranks ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Timothy Weah is sealing a move to the Old Lady on a permanent transfer from Ligue 1 side Lille, CBS Sports reported Tuesday. Weah had reportedly agreed personal teams with Juventus last weekend and now Lille is set to receive €12 million for his services, according to the report.

Weah arrived in Turin on Wednesday ahead of his medical with the club.

The 23-year-old Weah mainly featured as a fullback and wing back for Lille this season, registering two assists in 32 combined appearances. He was previously linked with Marseille, Fulham, Sevilla, and others throughout the season.

Weah recently started in both of the U.S. men’s national team’s Nations League matches last week as the Americans repeated as tournament winners. Weah has earned 29 caps with the USMNT to date, scoring four goals.

Juventus missed out on the Serie A top-four this season and was deducted 10 points for reported false accounting. He will now join fellow USMNT teammate Weston McKennie, who has previously been linked with a move away from Turin.
