UEFA Nations League Final Headlines This Weekend’s Soccer on TV

The stage for the UEFA Nations League Final is set.

After a thrilling semifinal round, Croatia and Spain are the last nations standing with both seeking a first Nations League crown. Croatia outlasted the Netherlands 4-2 in extra time and will aim for a first head-to-head triumph over Spain since 2018. Luka Modric and Andrej Kramaric remain two veteran leaders in the Croatia attack.

Spain used an 88th-minute winner from Joselu to defeat Italy 2-1 and book its spot in Sunday’s final. Spain defeated Croatia 5-3 in the 2021 European Championship and overall has won three of its last five meetings in recent history.

The Concacaf Nations League also concludes on Sunday with the U.S. men’s national team facing off with Canada in the tournament final. B.J. Callaghan’s squad rolled past Mexico 3-0 in Thursday’s semifinal in Las Vegas using a brace from Christian Pulisic and an insurance goal from Ricardo Pepi.

Weston McKennie and Sergino Dest will both miss the final after receiving red cards against Mexico.

Canada defeated Panama 2-0 after goals from Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies sent the Canadians on their way to the final.

Major League Soccer pushes on with the No. 1 seed in the West visiting the No. 2 seed in the East. Nashville SC has only lost once at home in MLS play while St. Louis CITY SC seeks a bounce-back result after falling to FC Dallas and tying the lowly LA Galaxy.
