Two of English football’s most historic clubs collide at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, headlining the final week of European action before the September international window.
Arsenal hosts its long-time rivals Manchester United, seeking a first statement victory of the new campaign. The Gunners couldn’t take advantage of an extra man in a 2-2 draw with Fulham last weekend.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils mustered up a comeback victory over Nottingham Forest in a dramatic 3-2 win at Old Trafford. Captain Bruno Fernandes sealed the important three points from the penalty spot after Forest went down to 10 men.
Premier League play also features Brighton & Hove Albion’s home showdown with Newcastle United as both clubs seek a bounce-back victories after poor outings last weekend.
In Italy, Matchday 3 yields a massive showdown early in the Serie A campaign when first place AC Milan visits AS Roma. The Rossoneri downed Torino 4-1 last weekend with Christian Pulisic scoring for the second-straight week.
The two Italian giants split points in both matches last season, drawing on both occasions.
Defending Serie A Champions Napoli also hosts last season’s second place finishers Lazio. Napoli has won its first two matches of the new campaign while Lazio has lost both of its matches.
Ligue 1 also features a top matchup as Paris Saint-Germain goes head-to-head with Lyon. Kylian Mbappe will try and lead PSG to a second-straight victory before heading into French national team duty.
