Konrad De La Fuente is hoping to bounce back after a frustrating 2022-23 campaign and will return to Spain for his next opportunity to do so.

Eibar have acquired De La Fuente on loan for the upcoming league season, the club announced. Tuesday. De La Fuente made only five appearances on loan at Olympiakos last season and isn’t part of Marseille’s plans for this season.

The 21-year-old moved to Marseille from Barcelona in 2021, scoring one goal and adding three assists in 23 combined appearances. However, De La Fuente struggled to retain his role with the club following a season-ending injury in Spring 2022.

The former Barcelona academy player has found it tough to get back into the U.S. men’s national team picture following his move to Marseille. De La Fuente has earned three caps for the USMNT while also being a former USMNT Under-20 player.

He was linked with both Hull City and Real Valladolid last January, but a deal was not agreed upon prior to the closure of the January transfer window.

Eibar suffered relegation from La Liga last season, dropping into the Segunda Division. They will face Racing Club on August 12 in its season-opener.
