Tyler Adams’ long-awaited Bournemouth debut could come as early as this week with the Cherries preparing for EFL Cup involvement.
Adams returned to Bournemouth training last week and is slated for a potential club debut in Wednesday’s EFL Cup showdown vs. Stoke City. The 24-year-old had been sidelined from club and international duty due to a hamstring injury he suffered in March.
However, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola confirmed Tuesday that Adams could be eligible for Wednesday’s match if his training session goes well.
“We have the chance though, if he trains well today, to put Tyler Adams in the squad,” Iraola said.
“He wants to help, we have to take the decision after training but I think and hope he’s available to be on the bench.”
Adams made 26 combined appearances for Leeds United last season under Jesse Marsch and Javi Gracia following his transfer from RB Leipzig in 2022. He finished the campaign as one of the Lilywhites’ top performers despite missing the final two months of the season through injury.
He was one of several acquisitions made by the Cherries this summer.
Bournemouth welcomes the Potters to the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday before closing out its September schedule also at home against Arsenal (EPL) on Sept. 30.
good to hear!
