Reggie Cannon makes full QPR debut in loss at West Brom

English Football League Championship side QPR suffered its latest defeat on Tuesday night at the Hawthorns, but American defender Reggie Cannon made his long-awaited full debut in the process.

Cannon logged 90 minutes as a right wing back in a 2-0 loss at West Bromwich Albion, his first full performance since May 27. The 25-year-old made his club debut in last weekend’s 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town and followed that up by earning his first start in Gareth Ainsworth’s squad.

West Brom used a pair of second-half goals from Brandon Thomas-Asante and Grady Diangana to claim three points at home. It marked the fifth-straight loss for QPR in league play, which extended their winless run to eight matches.

Cannon won his only duel of the match, made four interceptions, and completed all seven of his passes. The former FC Dallas homegrown defender signed with QPR in September after leaving Portuguese club Boavista due to reported unpaid wages last summer.

QPR’s tough schedule continues with a home match against Championship leaders Leicester City on Saturday.
