Jordan Pefok made his long-awaited return for Borussia Moenchengladbach on Sunday, coming off the bench and scoring to help close out a home Bundesliga victory.
Pefok made his first appearance since November 25 as Gladbach defeated Stuttgart 3-1 at home. The U.S. men’s national team forward played the final 24 minutes for Gladbach, netting his third league goal and fifth overall goal of the campaign. Pefok’s right-footed shot capped off a Gladbach fast break in stoppage time, giving the hosts a first three points of 2024.
Pefok will hope his latest goal contribution earns him continued minutes this winter. Gladbach resumes league play on January 21 against Augsburg before closing out its monthly schedule with a trip to Bayer Leverkusen.
In England, Josh Sargent helped Norwich City pick up three points at Hull City. Jonathan Tomkinson continued to start for Bradford City.
In Italy, Gianluca Busio and Andrija Novakovich both scored in Serie B play.
In France, Folarin Balogun suffered a home loss to his former loan club Stade Reims.
