Everything Christian Pulisic touches seems to find the back of the net.
Pulisic scored his sixth goal of the season across all competitions as AC Milan defeated Belgian visitors Club Brugge 3-1 in UEFA Champions League action Tuesday. The U.S. men’s national team star has either scored or assisted in 11 of his 13 appearances for club and country.
The Rossoneri grabbed a first-half lead in the 34th minute thanks to Pulisic’s olimpico goal from the left corner. Pulisic swung in a corner kick which found its way to the back of the net, giving AC Milan a 1-0 advantage.
Despite Club Brugge tying the match up in the 51st minute, AC Milan used a brace from Tijani Reijnders to pull away and claim all three points. Reijnders propelled the hosts in front after the hour mark before sealing the victory 10 minutes later.
Pulisic logged 90 minutes in the result as AC Milan made it back-to-back wins in two separate competitions. Although he will take the goal, Pulisic admitted it came off of a bit of luck.
“Today it was a bit of luck but it’s still worth a goal. I’m very happy,” said Pulisic in a club interview. “I didn’t try to do that but it was a good cross, I’ll say that, and after a nice, nice goal but I wasn’t trying that.
“I work hard every day. I always want to be decisive in matches,” he added. “I’m very happy this year, I’m getting a lot of goals and assists, but it’s not always like that. So I’ll continue like this and hope to continue scoring.”
The Rossoneri next visits Bologna on Saturday in Serie A play.
Haji Wright
Coventry City earned one point from its trip to London on Tuesday thanks to Haji Wright’s fourth goal of the EFL Championship season.
Wright scored the opening goal in the Sky Blues’ 1-1 draw with QPR. The USMNT forward played 84 minutes in the match as well.
Wright followed up a frantic play in the box for Coventry City, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead. It was Wright’s first goal since October 1.
However, Kieran Morgan came off the bench to score QPR’s equalizing goal, giving them a share of the spoils.
Coventry City will return home to face Luton Town on Saturday.
Brenden Aaronson
Leeds United continued its unbeaten run in the EFL Championship after picking up three points at Elland Road on Tuesday.
Brenden Aaronson scored his third goal of the season in Leeds’ 2-1 triumph over Watford. The USMNT midfielder earned Man of the Match honors after logging a strong 90 minutes on his birthday.
Largie Ramazani propelled Leeds in front after four minutes before Aaronson doubled the hosts lead three minutes later. He arrived in the box to slot home his first league goal since August 23.
Kwadwo Baah cut the deficit for Watford in the second half, but Leeds United hung on for three points.
Aaronson led all players in chances created (5) while also winning five duels.
Leeds United travels to Bristol City on Saturday.
Duane Holmes, Josh Sargent share points in 2-2 draw
Duane Holmes and Josh Sargent squared off for the first time this EFL Championship season, sharing the honors in a 2-2 draw.
Preston North End race out to a 2-0 lead but the visiting Canaries would battle back and score twice to earn one point at Deepdale.
Sam Greenwood’s opener came in the sixth minute for Preston before Holmes drilled home his first goal since March. However, Norwich City would dig deep and walk away with a deserved point.
Borja Sainz cut Norwich’s deficit in half before halftime before Sargent added his name to the stat sheet after the hour mark.
Sargent’s assist was finished off by Shane Duffy in the 61st minute, extending the Canaries’ unbeaten run to six matches.
The 24-year-old striker now has four goals and five assists to his name this season.
Preston next visits Plymouth Argyle on Saturday while Norwich City hosts Middlesbrough on Sunday.

After he went off and with Milan comfortably ahead, I stopped watching the game. Obviously that was a mistake.
Hah, I was so confused because I wasn’t able to watch live and hadn’t heard about an injury. So I went on Twitter and there were a couple posts like your’s expressing worry. So I had to watch the replay to be sure everything was ok.
EFL championship players……we see you!!! Wright…… Aaronson…..Sargent……Holmes all having a MAJOR IMPACT for their respective teams
and Duane Holmes – speed and accuracy with the low well placed shot

So good to see
Pulisic came off after an injury. It looked like he twisted his knee while he fell following a collision with a defender. He walked off, unassisted, so hopefully it isn’t too bad. Because I was watching on a Spanish language broadcast, I’m not sure, but I think it was Musah’s great pass into the box which was headed into the goal. However, it was called back for an offsides.
He immediately came back on even though Milan still had a sub, nothing in Fonseca’s comments afterwards or on the clubs website of an issue. He went down in 77th minute and by 80th minute tackled the ball off a defender carried it up the sideline and did a couple stepovers. Sprinted to get behind the backline a few minutes later but Mignolet got to it first. Looked like just a knee to knee contact or maybe a Charlie horse knee to thigh. When I was checking social media for any post match on the knock, it was full of Chelsea fans wishing they hadn’t gotten rid of him.

The pass on the offside goal was Reijnders to Camarda if you were talking about the VAR disallowed goal.
no injury
I watched it live and when they replayed it on slow-mo, I was saying “no no no no no no” out loud while his knee buckled. Audible sigh of relief to see him sprinting a few minutes later.
Kudos to the U17 women beating SKorea 5-0 they’ll play Nigeria in the quarters for the 2nd straight time. Lost on pks in 2022.
I get it’s a bit of luck but Pulisic has become the first choice corner taker for ACM. He’s got a couple assists and now a goal off corners taken this season already. Christian has clearly worked on this part of his game.
You put the ball in a dangerous spot and good things can happen, but the keeper didn’t look so good on that one.
Matthis Albert and Tyler Meiser started for BvB U19 in their win over Real Madrid 2-1. Albert came off at half, Meiser went the full 90 as a CB. The USA/Dortmund ties continue to run deep.
