Back-to-back victories for AC Milan featured a pair of impactful performances from Christian Pulisic.
Pulisic started in both matches for the Rossoneri, scoring one goal and adding one assist. The U.S. men’s national team playmaker earned SBI Americans Abroad Player of the Week honors for his efforts.
Pulisic scored his eighth goal of the season across all competitions as the Rossoneri defeated Slovan Bratislava 3-2 in UEFA Champions League play. It continued a strong campaign for the 26-year-old in front of goal.
After finding the back of the net midweek, Pulisic followed that up with a positive 90 minutes on Saturday in Serie A play. He registered his sixth assist of the season as Paulo Fonseca’s defeated Empoli 3-0 to stay in touching distance of the top-six.
Pulisic will now turn his attention towards Coppa Italia play midweek as AC Milan hosts Sassuolo on Tuesday.
Here is a look at some of the other top Americans Abroad performers from this past week:
Ricardo Pepi
Ricardo Pepi helped PSV earn a massive Champions League win last week.
After being down 2-0 at home to Shakhtar Donetsk, PSV fought back and used Pepi’s game-winning goal to claim a 3-2 victory. The USMNT forward now has 10 goals on the season across all competitions with more than half of the total schedule left to play.
Malik Tillman
Malik Tillman kickstarted PSV’s turnaround against Shakhtar Donetsk, scoring twice on home soil.
The 22-year-old delivered a pair of confident finishes at the Phillips Stadion, bringing his goal tally to eight in all competitions.
Likewise to Pepi, Tillman is playing at a high level in Peter Bosz’s squad.
Mark McKenzie
Mark McKenzie delivered one of his better performances in a Toulouse kit this past weekend.
McKenzie went the distance as Toulouse defeated Auxerre 2-0 in Ligue 1 play. The USMNT centerback won two duels, completed 94% of his passes, and made 10 defensive recoveries as Toulouse registered their fourth clean sheet out of the past five matches.
Tyler Adams
Tyler Adams is finding his groove for AFC Bournemouth.
Adams made his third-consecutive start on Saturday as the Cherries defeated Wolves 4-2 away from home. The USMNT midfielder had missed ample time for Bournemouth over the past year, but looks to be staying as a regular in Andoni Iraola’s starting lineup this fall and winter.
What did you think of these individual performances this past week? Was there anyone left off the list that you would’ve added?
