Americans Abroad Player of the Week: Christian Pulisic

AC Milan rallied for one point in Saturday’s 2-2 home draw with Fiorentina and Christian Pulisic was a major reason for it.

Pulisic registered his 10th assist across all competitions as the Rossoneri fought back to avoid a dismal home loss. The USMNT star earned SBI Americans Abroad Player of the Week honors for his impactful 80-minute shift at the San Siro.

AC Milan faced a 2-0 deficit after only 10 minutes but rallied to earn a share of the spoils.

Pulisic set up Tammy Abraham in the 23rd minute to trim the Rossoneri’s deficit in half before Luka Jovic tied the match after the hour mark.

The 26-year-old Pulisic created two offensive chances, won two individual duels, and completed 89% of his passes in the result.

AC Milan has eight matches remaining on its competitive schedule this season, starting with April 11’s trip to Udinese.

Here is a look at some of the other top Americans Abroad performers from this past week:

Malik Tillman

Malik Tillman looked back to his old self in PSV’s 3-1 road victory over FC Groningen on Saturday.

Tillman scored his 12th goal of the season in all competitions as PSV picked up a crucial three points in their quest to repeat as league champions. The USMNT midfielder drilled a confident right-footed strike into the right corner of the net, celebrating one of his better moments of the season.

Josh Sargent

Sargent continued his productive campaign by finding the back of the net in a 2-1 loss to Plymouth Argyle. The Missouri native is now in the top three of the Golden Boot race, remaining one of the top scorers in England.

Should the Canaries miss out of the top-six, it might be time for Sargent to test himself elsewhere.

Haji Wright

Wright scored his 11th goal of the campaign despite Coventry City’s 2-1 home loss to league-leading Burnley. The USMNT forward pounced on a rebound in the first half, propelling Frank Lampard’s squad in front.

However, Burnley used Jaidon Anthony’s brace to steal all three points and keep the Sky Blues just inside of the top six.

Griffin Yow

Griffin Yow’s future remains unknown with Westerlo but it hasn’t stopped him from picking up steam this spring.

Yow scored his fifth goal as Westerlo tied OH Leuven 2-2 in Belgian league action on Saturday. The former DC United homegrown is continuing to produce in a key stretch of the season, boosting his stock ahead of a potential exit this summer.

Westerlo has eight matches remaining and are alive for a Europa Conference League Playoff spot.
