The U.S. women’s national team are 11 days away from getting back on the field and Emma Hayes announced her roster for the upcoming slate of preparation matches.
Lily Yohannes, Naomi Girma, and Catarina Macario headlined Hayes’ 24-player roster for May and June’s upcoming matches against China PR and Jamaica. Defender Kerry Abello and midfielder Lo’eau LaBonta earned their first senior call-ups while veterans Lindsey Heaps, Crystal Dunn, and Lynn Biyendolo have also been included.
The USWNT will face China PR on May 31 in St. Paul, Minnesota before closing their two-match window against Jamaica on June 3 in St. Louis.
Former USWNT defender Becky Sauerbrunn will be honored in St. Louis after announcing her retirement in December 2024.
“Everyone always earns their call-ups but there are some much-deserved call-ups in this camp for players who have shown consistency in league play,” said Hayes. “We have two different types of opponents ahead of us, so we’ll have to be creative in breaking down those teams in different ways.
“Now that everyone has settled into a rhythm with their clubs, or is coming right off their European seasons, our players are at a good level,” she added. “As has been one of our focuses this year, this camp and the following camp are going to be two amazing opportunities to develop squad depth.”
Three players will be seeking to earn their first senior caps with the program.
