An in-form Patrick Agyemang could be what propels Derby County into the EFL Championship promotion playoffs this season.
Agyemang scored his 10th goal of the season and his fourth of 2026 as the Rams defeated Swansea City 2-0 at Pride Park Stadium on Saturday. The American has now leveled U.S. men’s national team teammate Haji Wright for league goals this campaign.
Rhian Brewster propelled the hosts in front early into the second half before Agyemang doubled their lead after the hour mark.
Agyemang rose high to head home Callum Elder’s corner kick into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.
Agyemang played 88 minutes in the match, continuing a productive first season abroad.
Derby County, who has now won five league matches this year, are in sixth place following Saturday’s result. The Rams will next travel to 12th place Watford on February 21 before closing the match against Hull City and Blackburn Rovers.

Huge fan of Agyemang. I was sold the minute I saw him play for the USA and counted the number of times defenders had to tackle him hand-egg style just to stop him. It is something that we don’t have and we may dearly need at the world cup if we are stuck on an ugly slog. His game is also getting polished playing in England.
Turning into our Peter Crouch
Oh man, I have been thinking the same thing! He is becoming a set piece force!
Big Pat, plays with a lot joy and just keeps showing up in the box.
Best off form Agyemang could be starting one of the March friendlies.
His team asks very different things from him than the USMNT.
