Ricardo Pepi’s reported move to English Premier League club Fulham has broken down.
Pepi will remain at Eredivisie side PSV for the remainder of the season after the Dutch outfit failed to find a replacement for the American. Despite Fulham and PSV reportedly agreeing to a €37 million ($43.7 million) deal, Pepi will stay in Eindhoven for now.
Pepi is currently sidelined until at least March as he recovers from a broken arm. The 23-year-old has scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for PSV this season, taking the No. 9 shirt following Luuk De Jong’s exit last summer.
The Texas native made the move to PSV back in 2023 and has since contributed 37 goals in 90 appearances. He helped PSV win back-to-back league titles and deliver several positive moments in the UEFA Champions League.
Prior to his move to Holland, Pepi was on the books at Bundesliga club Augsburg, but failed to score in his 16 appearances there.
Since making his debut for the U.S. men’s national team in 2021, Pepi has scored 13 goals for the senior squad. However, he only made one appearance in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad in 2025.
PSV currently leads the Eredivisie by 17 points over Feyenoord and also remains in the KNVB Cup competition this winter.

to remind people, pepi’s currently out with a broken arm. my concern would be more him getting healthy and some games before the roster selection. personally i’d prefer they transfer in the summer if they are getting time now.
or have people forgotten how pepi’s bad move end of last cycle helped cost him that tournament team.
Meh. He will be sold in the summer. To Fulham or another team.
What the?….. I thought Fulham was a done deal….smh
“‼️ BREAKING: ‼️ Fulham have agreed €37m package with PSV Eindhoven for USMNT striker Ricardo Pepi, personal terms agreed as well, per Fabrizio Romano.”
I really thought that one was in the bag…..
“BREAKING: USMNT striker Ricardo Pepi’s move from PSV to Fulham is now OFF — despite the clubs agreeing to a €37m move and Pepi agreeing on personal terms — because PSV could not find a replacement in time, per Fabrizio Romano.”
Damn
Pepi is still with PSV, Mateta still with Palace. Josh Sargent is still with Norwich. Benzema and Ronaldo are both unhappy in Saudi Arabia. Lots of drama, but not a lot of player movement.
Selfishly, it’s probably better for the USMNT for Pepi to stay at PSV at least until the summer. He’ll be able to get on the field more quickly there than at Fulham, and he’ll have a better chance of returning to full strength before the WC.
They can still sell Sargent because the MLS window isn’t closed until late March. They just can’t use the money to buy someone new until next season.
Yes, I read something that the deal is still expected to get done. But TFC’s offer is significantly less than what Wolfsburg offered last summer, so Norwich is holding out for better money. Given the drop in value of the dollar, the difference between TFC’s offer and Wolfsburg’s offer is substantial. Something like 13 million pounds vs. 20 million pounds.
And Norwich signed a 21 year old Aussie forward, so Josh’s replacement is already on board.
