Weston McKennie assists twice, Juventus falls to Inter Milan

The goal contributions keep on coming for Weston McKennie this winter.

McKennie registered two assists on Saturday but Juventus conceded a late winner in a 3-2 loss to Inter Milan. The American midfielder now has seven goal contributions this year, continuing his hot run of form for the Bianconeri.

An Andrea Cambiaso own goal boosted the league-leaders in front at the San Siro before the Italian defender equalized nine minutes later for a 1-1 scoreline. McKennie’s cross from the right side of the Inter box was redirected home by Cambiaso to give Luciano Spalletti’s squad life heading into halftime.

Pierre Kalulu was sent off for Juventus, giving Inter Milan an extra man advantage for the remaining 50+ minutes of the match.

Francesco Pio Esposito powered Inter Milan ahead 2-1 with 14 minutes play but McKennie helped draw Juventus level a second time.

McKennie’s deft pass allowed Manuel Locatelli to slot home with seven minutes to play.

However, Piotr Zielinski would play the hero for Inter, smashing home from outside of the box in second-half stoppage time.

McKennie played the full 90 minutes in the defeat, as Juventus dropped out of the top-four on goal difference.

Juventus will have a quick turnaround this week as the Italian club visits Galatasaray in UEFA Champions League play on Tuesday.

      • Keep quoting Dr, Martin Luther King…you are so smart.

Your original post in this thread had an argument that was invalid and made no sense, yet after replying 5 more times on the same topic, your argument is still invalid and makes no sense, yet you keep going. That is the very definition of “sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”

But, don’t let that stop you, everyone is clearly humored by your ignorance and stupidity.

It’s clear you want to heard, but you offer nothing of value with regards to insight or dialogue with respect to soccer, but when you post, the circus is in town…and you offer a great clown show!…so keep going.

On a side note, if you text in all caps more often, most likely, everyone will understand you better and you can reduce the number of posts needed to get make your point.

        You moron.

      • Just so you know…… My posts are idiot proof……sorry lmao. There’s a reason nobody logically has a fruitful discussion with you on this post. Because you lack the brain cells for comprehension, logic and you don’t seem to understand anything.

If I am a moron ……Lord, what does that make you lmao

I think your name should be Papi “gran idiota”……. Because you are a stupid, ignorant, clueless idiot lmao

      • “:On a side note, if you text in all caps more often, most likely, everyone will understand you better….”……….That hasn’t seemed to work for you at all……you pathetic, thickheaded mindless, obtuse buffoon lmao!!!

      • Ha!…you think people are having a “fruitful discussion” with you?…another clear sign of your ““sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity”…there laughing at you, stupid.

      • Hahahaha…..why do you think you had to jump in a conversation that was above your IQ??? Stand on your own merits and research and stop kissing Johnnyrazor’s a$$. Your ignorance and stupidity has no limit……hence people just seem to ignore you. Me? I love to let you know how much of a pathetic, unless, clueless moron you are …….and you inability to contribute ANY THING on this platform. LMAO

      • Hahahahaha,
Looks like the ultimate imbecile, seems to have run out of things to say. That’s what happens when you are a dunce and on a word ration. I told you to stop all that a$$ kissing and not to just reply and rely on other people for your content…..you blockheaded buffoon.
But hey, not everyone can be as stupid as you, so since you are on a limited word bandwidth, go back to whatever “facility” you came from, replenish your “maximum limit of comprehension”, since you clearly seem to have run out (which doesn’t seem to be that much at all LMAO)………and then come back out there and show everyone how much of a blockhead you can really aspire to be…….you despicable dimwit.

      • Hahahaha….. you are not pulling any strings…… You are too stupid for that , an absolute idiot lol. A dump dimwit that has no concept about this game we love and how to engage or contribute to have civil dialogue. You are a useless, clueless blockhead that only criticizes what other people post rather than come up with your concept of what you perceived from your experience watching the game. But of course you don’t watch any games, just the highlights and then you bring your low IQ to this platform to argue as the idiot you are. I engage because I love humiliating you…….LMAO

    • I don’t kiss anyone’s ass, but you can keep going, you are on a roll and continue to have everyone laughing…at you.

You’re a good little puppet, and as expected, easy to engage and you were responding to every time I pulled a string.

  1. “Weston McKennie assists twice, Juventus falls to Inter Milan……WITH THE HELP OF THE 12TH INTER PLAYER, REFEREE FEDERICO LA PENNA”……bruh!

“Refereeing chief Rocchi has since had an opportunity to have his say on the wrongful sending off of Kalulu: We are very sorry about the incident (La Penna’s decision), which was clearly wrong, and for the fact that we could not use VAR to remedy it,” Rocchi said (via ANSA)”
“Rocchi also told ANSA that La Penna is ‘distraught’ by his mistake, and also criticised Bastoni, claiming that the referee was “not the only one who made a mistake, because there was clear simulation yesterday.”…..what the ???

Inter Milan have appeared “bulletproof” all season long…….yet with help of La Penna, play Juventus a man down (from the 42 minute of the game) and Juventus WITH THE DIRECT HELP OF WESTON MCKENNIE where able to match Inter goal for goal till the 90th min. This scandal / drama shows how big of a club Juve REALLY is in Italy and the fight of “Spalletti’s warriors” was on clear display, with Mckennie deep in all of it. Absolutely love it!!!!!

Inter started 1-2 losing to Juve, then were 5-3, and were 8-4 after losing to AC Milan, so bulletproof since Pulisic beat them in late November. They’ve been in first the last 11 weeks but were only at the top 2 of the first 11 weeks.

Soooooo what would you call 20 WINS 1 DRAW and 4 LOSES in 25 league games……and have scored 60 goals in the process???? Huh?

I mean winning 20 of 25 games played seems pretty bulletproof to me…..don’t you think? lol

      • You said “bulletproof all season.” They’ve been great the last two months. The first two months they lost a 3rd of their matches and were chasing AC Milan. By the way they lost to Igor Tudor’s Juventus in week 3. Put it this way Juve was only 3 pts back of Inter on October 26 and they fired their manager.
        ———————-
“Scandal” the ref missed a call. Kalalu put himself in that position with the early yellow and Miretti with a terrible give away on the 2nd put the ref in that position and VAR didn’t have the right to change it. If a Juve player had drawn a second yellow on Inter you’d be praising their tactical awareness.
“ This scandal / drama shows how big of a club Juve REALLY is in Italy” they’re the most decorated club in Serie A with 36 titles you didn’t know they were a big club until today?

      • “You said “bulletproof all season.” They’ve been great the last two months. “……you can’t win 20 of your 25 games…..win 12 -13 games in a row…….lead the second place team by 5 points……if you have only been great in the last two months. Doesn’t matter who they lost to…..they only lost 4 games ALL SEASON in 25 showings. That’s great no matter how you slice it

“This scandal / drama shows how big of a club Juve REALLY is in Italy….” Do you understand what that means or do you need me to explain it to you? lol, Ok I’ll help you, it mean that they are big (and has always been big….hence the comment how big the club really is) but the outburst really puts the club’s greatness into perspective of how big they really are………simple

      • Bizzy: I still have no idea what you are trying to say about Juve being a big club.
Are they a “big club” because
        A. They didn’t give up a man down
        B. The referee felt bad he messed up
        C. Because they have an American playing well
        D. They are sponsored by the Detroit Tourism Bureau

I’d want my bulletproof vest not to fail 4 of the first 12 times I got shot at but that’s just me I guess.

      • LOL…..I see you are confused. let me help you again. It’s like saying the Navy Seals picking the Glock 19 show how big of a brand Glock REALLY is. It means the Glock brand is big, reliable and well known already but the fact that Seal are choosing the Glock means these traits are magnified……..The reaction from the press, fans, media and the referee governing body itself show how big of a Club Juve really is…….

      • Johnnyrazor,
“bulletproof” used to describe something often implies it is extremely strong, reliable, or protected against failure. Is Juventus strong? Yes. Is Juventus reliable? 20 wins says yes. Are they protected against failure?? Top of the standings and 5 points ahead of second place team after 25 games says so………but lets go by you analogy lol

NIJ-certified bulletproof vests (body armor) are designed to be over 95% effective at stopping rounds that fall within their specific rated threat level.

        It doesn’t say after the 1st or the 5th or 7th round…….just 95% .lol

  2. McKennie is playing with a lot of confidence combined with coaching and directions on the field. He really is comfortable finding space and pockets on the right side and central. McKennie looks to be a playmaker with great balls into both boxes. Although he should have shot in the first half rather than try to find David on the volley?
The red was completely unjustified and raises doubts on having VAR if a referee is not going to use it? The match official and any of the VAR reviewers should be fined and demoted

    • It’s my understanding that VAR cannot review a second yellow card. They can only review a straight red or to upgrade a yellow to a red. They possibly could look at simulation but Kalulu is clearly reaching out to foul them but pulls off at last 1/2 second, so there is contact with his hand, so is it clear and obvious? Usually they only look at simulation in the box. The VAR is really limited in its ability in this case. Bottom line is if you’re on a yellow you can’t even get near that. Miretti’s pass was also just awful, put his teammate in an impossible situation.

      • BS……yes VAR could not be used to review the second Yellow card (rules of the game) but Kalulu didn’t do anything wrong. So he was suppose to tip-toe around the field AND AVOID CONTACT because of a clueless Ref on the pitch?? The Refereeing chief publicly admitted a mistake while acknowledging that the decision was indeed incorrect and expressed regret that VAR could not be used to correct it (again rules of the game). To add insult to injury, Kalulu’s red card cannot be overturned, since the regulations do not allow video reviews for second bookings, but bad calls by the referee were still acknowledged (even La Penna himself was emotionally affected). Also, the refereeing chief noted there had been other “questionable moments”, also apart from the simulation by Bastoni.
So it wasn’t Kalulu’s fault in any way shape or form……..the referee F@#$ed up.

      • He doesn’t need to tip toe. But on a yellow he shouldn’t have reached out at a player on a breakout. The ref missed it, but if Kalulu doesn’t reach out to grab him there’s no yellow.

    • Twomilerule,

The second yellow, and corresponding red card, is the correct call. The reason is a tactical foul and Kalulu knows EXACTLY what he is doing when he fouls Bastoni.

As Johnyrazor shared, at this time VAR cannot engage with the Referee and recommend a review of the second yellow. That said, this very topic has been submitted to IFAB for review as a potential change. IFAB usually provides their decisions by April.

If IFAB decides to make the change, it becomes applicable for the following season, and in this case, Serie A would implement the change for the 26-27 season.
