Club America will seek to punch its ticket into the CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinals, but standing in the way is Nashville SC.
Alex Zendejas and Andre Jardine’s squad will welcome Nashville SC to Estadio Akron on Tuesday, with both teams level 0-0 on aggregate. Zendejas most recently registered one assist on Saturday as Club America tied Cruz Azul 1-1.
The 28-year-old attacker snapped his six-match goal contribution drought, getting back on the stat-sheet this spring. Zendejas now has 14 goal contributions in all competitions this season, remaining a key player in Jardine’s group.
Club America will be favored to advance on home soil, but the hosts will need Zendejas to be impactful in the match.
Elsewhere, Johnny Cardoso looks set to return for Atletico Madrid this week against Barcelona. Chris Richards and Lennard Maloney continue their Conference League quarterfinal series. Lynden Gooch and Huddersfield Town take on Cardiff City in League One action.
