Good morning all. It was a pretty good day of soccer in MLS this Saturday. Well, if was if your team didn’t lose or if you were an impartial observer.
Here is a quick rundown of yesterday’s results:
Toronto FC 2, Los Angeles Galaxy 0
TFC’s bench is stronger than the Galaxy’s. In other news, the sun is hot.
Houston Dynamo 1, New York Red Bulls 0
No DeRo, Onstad, Barrett or Robinson? No problem. Not against a Red Bulls team with no depth and half its payroll sitting home.
Real Salt Lake 3, San Jose Earthquakes 1
Earthquakes looked nothing like the team that beat Houston while RSL showed once again it’s a very different team at home.
Jorge Flores scores again. That sound you hear is every team in MLS trying to set up their own Sueno MLS contest.

Its a drag paying good money to go to a game(s) and see a team play “Hack a Shaq” like Chivas did on Robbie Rogers. Hope the MLS officials do something about it.
Red Bulls coached by 0s0ri0.
In the Red Bull game against Houston the midfield provided some of the best passes that Houston received all night. Sassano and his replacement continually gave the ball to the team dressed in Orange shirts. Richards and Dorman were not mush better and both are totally lacking a soccer brain. Both just put their heads down and look to beat their opponent with speed and if successful never look up to see if a teammate is making a run that demands they get the ball.Reyna is no help as he sits more due to injury than he plays.
Bigger than Marv Albert?
(Who was last sited in women’s underwear biting his girlfriend n the ass)
“During the RSL-SJ game Fox Soccer did a promo for a reality soccer tryout show, with the winner getting a contract from Everton.
So looks like the concept might be here to stay.

And how exactly does the winner get a work permit?
RBNY has been a house of cards since opening day because JCO failed to find the missing pieces or the serious bench players RBNY needs to survive an entire season. It isn’t even the dog days of summer yet. Can you imagine how horrible this team will be in late July/early August?
Didn’t get to see the game. How did Jozy look?
RSL looked fantastic last night. Meanwhile, Max Bretos further secured his position as biggest douchebag in sports broadcasting.
Wow, I feel exactly like I have at this point every single season since 1996. The Red Bulls blow. Rage.

I hate reality TV but Flores has been exceptional! Great sign for the league to have players like him.
your right andrew, but keep in mind quakes didn’t have, o’brien, guerrero, kamara, not much but when your as thin as we are that’s a major diferrence.
Andrew, that turf is so awful that RSL should win practically every game at Rice-Eccles.
I’m so looking forward to the new stadium in Sandy and I’m just a MLS fan in Chicago with Direct Kick.
yes but the salary cap is like 2.2-2.3 the total salary of the club he is talking about… I would assume anyway
The highlight of my weekend was definitely the Canada v Brazil match in Seattle. Canada lost 3-2 but we played so well and deserved a draw and had the chances to even knick a victory. I’ve honestly never seen canada played so well. We lost it with a couple bad mistakes, but we had equal posession and looked just as likely if not more likely to score on the attack.
Big win for RSL. It’s amazing what playing at home does for them. Findley for goal of the week.
mikek, since reyna and angel are DP’s they only count 400k each against the salary cap
So what happen with Boyens on that play? He went to stick his leg out and then decided to pull it back. Did Conway call him off? Was up w the hesitation on that play? Or was he just tired and lazy? At least thats what it looked like.
Bring back Charlie!
Our salary is a total of somewhere in the $4 mil range yeah?
Angel makes 1.5
VDB makes 274k
Reyna makes 1.2mil
that’s almost 3 quarters of our payroll.
Totally sickening.
I think NYRB really missed Reyna.

I don’t want to start a flame war on this, but it’s not just the clubs at fault here…

CUSA’s injuries might end up a blessing in disguise. If they can get pretty healthy, they should be good to go when their schedule gets crowded later on, both in terms of the time off for many players and the valuable experience gained by previously little-used players.
