A couple of top-10 teams face difficult road tests this weekend as we draw closer to the start of conference tournament play.
Tonight, No. 8 Virginia travels north to take on No. 20 Boston College. The Eagles are undefeated at home this season while the Cavaliers are on the road for the first time since Sept. 25. Virginia will rely on Brian Ownby, who has scored four goals in as many games, to provide the scoring threat.
On Saturday night, No. 1 Akron welcomes a Western Michigan side who hasn't lost in five games. The Zips are averaging almost four goals a game since the beginning of the month. No. 3 Maryland welcome struggling but dangerous Wake Forest later on Saturday.
On Sunday afternoon, No. 12 California and No. 11 UCLA square off for the second-consecutive week, this time in Los Angeles. The Bruins are undefeated in their last five matchups with the Golden Bears. Fox Soccer Channel will show Notre Dame at No. 5 Connecticut at 8:00.
