After a scoreless first half at BMO Field, Toronto FC netted twice after the break to take all three points from the Houston Dynamo.
Reds striker Joao Plata put in quite a performance after opening scoring in the 50th minute, the first goal of his MLS career. He then provided a deadly through ball to Maicon Santos', who duly slotted home under the body of Tally Hall in the 81st.
The Dynamo struck back six minutes later through Lovel Palmer who struck a first time shot into the far corner of Stefan Frei's net.
But it was too little, too late for the Dynamo who failed to capitalize on their chances. Credit to Plata for his performance, and Reds fans will be hoping to see more of the same from the Ecuadorian.
