It may seem strange to see FC Barcelona tied atop the Spanish Premier League standings with Levante, but Lionel Messi and Co. will have their chance to start pulling away from the upstarts by beating fourth-place Sevilla in today's battle of La Liga unbeatens.
Barcelona is just one point ahead of familiar foe Real Madrid, but sitting two points back is Sevilla, which will have hopes of springing an upset today. Led by the attacking duo of Alvaro Negredo and Jesus Navas, Sevilla will try to hand Barcelona its first loss of the season.
The Manchester Derby is still a day away, but the English Premier League still has some intriguing match-ups on offer, with upstarts Newcastle looking to stay in the top four with a win against Wigan, and Liverpool taking on Norwich City.
The final weekend of the MLS regular season also has some drama, with playoff seeds being determined by some key match-ups. Sporting Kansas City will look to grab the top spot in the East with a win against D.C. United, while Real Salt Lake faces Portland with a chance to lock up the No. 3 seed in the MLS Western Conference.

Fair enough and I did say they have done well so far with it. But to be fair, Arsenal and Tottenham were both home games. They have had 5 H/4 A and Arsenal is something of a shell of it’s former squad. I have no malice towards Newcastle but if the over/under on final table position was 8th, would you got better or worse? I’d probably go worse.
Umm, they did hang with Tottenham and Arsenal already this year. I agree the Manchester’s and Chelsea will be tough, but Newcastle has been good so far and they don’t even have their full strength team on the pitch yet.
I hope Boyd see’s playing time soon. Wanna see what he’s about.
Given how soccer fans are seen by a sizable portion of the American public, the “Bidet Bowl” I guess.
Everyone expect another goal, so HG put in 2. Against Santos Laguna, too. If Buddle’s not too old for a call up, neither is Herc. To paraphrase T.I., “Bring ‘im out!”
Another weekend, more goals for Gomez….Klins, your move.
I think Herc should be there over Buddle. Bunbury is the next generation, and has been in good form for SKC. He’s a speed forward, whereas Agudelo is a technique guy.
Let’s be serious… Herc can’t be relied on through 2014, and while he can contribute in the leadup, he shouldn’t be allowed to do so at the expense of preparing the youth.
and to clarify, I think Herc should be there over Bunbury.
your orozco example is completely wrong. when he got called in, he WAS starting every game. he has yet to be called in since being benched. omar or john should be there over ream, not orozco. but now that orozco isn’t starting, it should be both omar and john over ream and orozco.
100% agree on Herc though
Why is Buddle being attacked all the sudden? He has 5 goals in 12 games not exactly a bad rate? The team just hasn’t provided good chances for forwards, not like our guys are the type of scorers that create goals on their own by just giving them the ball in the last third of the field?
Hmm 8 goals for Herculez puts him at 2nd place, the guy leading the tournament, who’s gotten some really lucky tap ins like the 2nd one for Herculez today, is playing against Herculez’ team today.
I think he should get a call up, he’s had what a goal in his last 4 games?
Even if he doesn’t score next week, which I would think would be the icing on the cake to demand his call up?
Ahh…gotcha.
I want to see what Gomez can do with Shea creating on the left, Dempsey in the middle, and Donovan or Altidore on the right.
To clarify the defender piece, that is contingent on john and omar not still in the mls playoffs which I think would only be the case if they are in the championship game
Hell yea!!!!
Also, if he calls in orozco fiscal who has not started the last 2 games (didn’t see the field in last weeks game, not in starting 11 today) he is a complete phony with his whole “you must be playing to be considered” mumbo jumbo. I wanna see herc and omar or john over buddle and orozco fiscal
If Klinsmann calls in Buddle or Bunbury over Gomez, I will punch him in the face.
I know, that’s why the quotes and the winky face.
#2 for Herculez the Great!!! This is unbelievable!!!
