If Egypt national team head coach Bob Bradley ever dreamt of the perfect start to his side's World Cup qualifying campaign, it probably looked a lot like what transpired on Friday.
Bradley and Egpyt began their quest to the qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with a 2-0 victory over Mozambique at Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Friday night. The Pharoahs took the lead 10 minutes after halftime through a goal from defender Mahmoud Fathallah, and they doubled their advantage when Mozambique goalkeeper Kapango scored an own goal.
The result placed Egypt atop Group G, which also includes Guinea and Zimbabwe. It also extended Egypt's unbeaten run to 13 games (11 of which have been wins), a streak that dates back to February.
The Pharoahs are aiming to qualify for their first World Cup since 1990.
What do you think of Egypt's 2-0 win over Mozambique? Think Bradley will guide to the team to Brazil 2014? Surprised Bradley has the team on a 13-game winning streak?

Bob doing well without the albatross.
Great criticism, but your mom needs more respect.
Pharoah Bob just gets it done! Nice!
1/10
The only reason Bob Bradley is the coach is because his son is one of the USMNT’s best players.
yawn…rear view mirror backstabbing continues for those who could never give Bradley the respect he earned here. weak
I want to see this too!
After taking a lot of unfair excrement in this country, I’m glad Bob Bradley is enjoying success and the nationwide support he lacked in the U.S.
Remember him w/the MetroStars? Bradley is making Alexi Lalas look like a fool. Then again, a 10-year old could make Lalas look like a fool….
While all may look shimmery, Bob’s toughest test in this round is the next match, June 10 away to Guinea.
It doesn’t seem inconceivable to me that an Egypt loss there, alongside the fact that they don’t continue their qualifiers until March ’13, might actually cost Bob his job.
There are also no points for friendlies.
If you ever see the film “Outpost” about the horde of Zombie Nazis…well Bob looks like one of the SS Zombie-Trupen. Cold dead stare and everything.

US/Egypt in the first round of Brazil 2014-that’d be interesting!
Easy Group. They should have no problem getting to the next round. Then they have a home and home against whoever. If they can avoid playing Ivory Coast, Nigeria, or Ghana that round, they should be in good shape.
Bob’s looking very Yul Brynner-esque in that photo. Quick get him a nemes!

Is Bob Bradley allowed to torture his players when they mess up??? Imagine if he was able to whip the foot bottoms of Bornstien or Klijstean every time they goofed up…
You’d rather lose than take a point? How’s that again? There are no points for moral victories.
LOL i dont know the Italians can do a good job too.
Seriously! They cancelled last time. Now it would be even more interesting! Maybe 2013 or 14
How do I get a cool status like that?
As much as that hurts, it’s fairly accurate. Although only the French can flame out so spectacularly out of a WC
Im glad Bob is having some success in Egypt. He was not the right fit here and it was time for him to go.
The fact that he’s gone has taken the pressure of Mikey and allowed him to develop into a better player and allowed the USA to play games to win. I’d rather lose to Brazil 4-1 trying to attack then tie 1-1 playing bunker ball.
USA vs Egypt friendly?? Come on.. that would be interesting.
Non-statement. There isn’t a coach in the world that doesn’t stick to what they know best.
I bet BB is bringing discipline & defense to that group of free flowing footies. Yallah Yallah Shabab. Wajid Koora enshallah.
Fire Bob Bradley!
Go Bob! Also go to see they are playing games in Egypt once again.
Glad to see Bob doing well.
Italy is the new France.
Marco, are you still living in the basement of your parents house?
What is mom making for dinner?
Grow up and become a man.
On a related note: I’m wondering if Mexico’s forced separation from Bornstein will be detrimental to the El Tri next time the nations face one another.
The fact that Bornstein isn’t Egyptian is doing wonders for him.
Come on you Pharaohs
They used the term “unbeaten run” earlier in the article, which is the accurate term.
Probably just a human mistake missed on the proof read.
Haha, well done, sir.
2tone, the last thing the mideast needs is for The Bob to bring Egypt to the “promised land”.
Has Bob’s forced separation from Bornstein improved his game?
Franco, I wouldn’t call it the ultimate blunder… that’s a bit harsh. He made a good diving reaction save, pushed the shot onto the post, then it ricocheted back and hit him lying on the ground and rolled in.
Love to see Bradley doing well though…
I’m happy for him. I think he’ll lead them to the World Cup and out of the first round. Then it’s anyone’s guess. After the World Cup, he’ll land that European job he’s so coveted and deservedly so.
Nice Bob!
He would have been a defensive tactic specialist.
Not surprised Bradley is doing well. But it is not a 13 game win streak, there were a couple ties in there; his first game was a 2-0 loss to Brazil.
His record in Egypt now stands at 11 wins, 2 ties and 1 loss.
Bob’s a good coach – who sticks to what he knows best.
The only thing he’s changing is his employer (Egypt) and jumpsuit sponsor (Adidas.)
Bradley would have made a great military officer.
Nice to see Bradley coaching Egypt so well. They have played 13 games since February? Oh yeah they didn’t have a domestic league thats right. I really do hope he takes them to the promised land of the WC. Kepp up the good work Bob.
