Fans hoping to get more behind-the-scenes looks at MLS players in their preparations for matches and a glimpse into their everyday lives are in luck.
Chris Wondolowski and Fredy Montero will be the first two MLS players featured in MLS 36, NBC Sports Network's behind-the-scenes look at MLS players over the course of a 36-hour span. MLS' integration to the NBCSN series is the latest in the line of sports joining boxing, IndyCar and the NHL.
Wondolowski's episode will air on Sunday at 9:30 p.m. after the broadcast of the Portland Timbers-FC Dallas game. NBC's cameras followed Wondolowski in Philadelphia in the build-up to the MLS All-Star Game, which will be the focus of his episode.
Montero's episode will air on Friday, Aug. 10, at 10 p.m., following the New York Red Bulls-Houston Dynamo broadcast, and it will be centered on the 36 hours in the run-up to Seattle's World Football Challenge match against Chelsea — a game in which Montero scored two goals.
More players and episodes will be announced and shown as the season continues to unfold.

I don’t think he does realize that.
sounds cool.
I’ve been hoping they would do this for a while. Not so much for the league exposure domestically, although that will be a boost, but for the fact that it will entice more celebrity-minded players to come to the states and play while cementing their international celebrity in the form of a television show. I hope the idea takes off, and in a few years, MLS lands Cristiano Ronaldo who uses the TV show to become Beckham v.2
Expect to see a lot of trips to Arby’s and in Wondolowski’s case trips to the shrink where he struggles with being friendly teammates with that massivedouchebag Lenhart.
You realize that they are airing more than Fox Soccer Channel did?
Maybe they should start actually airing some more MLS games too. Novel idea . . .
dope
Great! Very excited to see this for MLS. Had to ban my young kids from watching the NHL version due to F-bombs every 7 seconds, but I’m betting soccer players/coaches will be cleaner (maybe not?).
FAN-F’IN-TASTIC! Exactly what I have always wanted. Now let’s hope the series doesn’t get cancelled after a few episodes and hope NBC supports it.
Sounds like a cool concept. Certainly would watch these if they came on frequently.
Would be cool to watch an episode with a new signing i.e Cahill.
O/T but how come David Beckham or Landon Donovan or even Pele for that matter never hosted SNL? It would seem a huge thing in the 70’s with PELE playing for the Cosmos that he should have hosted.
Same with Beckham when he came to the Galaxy in 07 or Donovan post WC 2010. Enough PR and quite a chance to be funny too like when Donovan was on Jimmy Fallon or was it Letterman?
Very cool. I will watch this (with a focus on letting the advertisers know!)
MLS needs to do whatever they can to keep this man happy and in MLS. Throw him some NT caps, you hear me JK
