The Rafa Benitez era begins this weekend for Chelsea against the top team in the Premier League at the moment as the Blues take on Manchester City in the weekend’s marquee match-up.
There is a ton of soccer on tap for the coming holiday weekend, but few matches carry more intrigue than Chelsea-Man City, what with Benitez managing his first match since taking over for fired Chelsea boss Roberto DiMatteo.
In Italy, AC Milan has enjoyed a recent surge and will look to knock off a Juventus side that has shown cracks in their once unbeatable facade in recent weeks.

Hope Gooch starts for Malaga this weekend
So when is Wondo leaving for Europe?
To the moderator: In light of corrections made to your schedule my 1st comment is no longer useful(except the mention of streaming for Xolos game) and I would prefer both my comments be removed from this thread.

Thanks Mike. Missed those.
Corona & Castillo both start for the Xolos. Corona playing in front of Castillo in a USMNT left side, (though it is Arce on the other side who the offense flows through).
Corona picked up a yellow earlier in game for a 50-50 tackle in which he lunged in, deserved the yellow.
Castillo – funny line from the announcer. “It’s as if he doesn’t have a 2nd gear…he goes from 1st to 4th without switching to 2nd and 3rd”1 🙂
Tijuana seems to be content to play counter in this game, sitting back further than I’ve seen them in the past., They are on the road for this first leg.
Anyone see Boyd’s goal today?
Follow up to a rebound from the goalie’s initial save. Boyd continued his run and put away a predatory opportunity. NSC has the link.
I feel dumb for not knowing this, but what is NSC?
No Short Corners blog.
thanks
Mex games today?
Mix get’s in behind, and then gets tripped up in the box, but no PK called.
trying to be a tottenham fan and not sure if i can do it. they are so incredibly boring to watch. dempsey doesn’t do anything. bale is exciting but has no support. lame.
i had more fun watching fulham.
They are clearly having issues creating (among other problems). Last year I found them exciting to watch and they still have the potential this year – I mean Bale, Lennon, Defoe, etc despite no Modric. They just don’t seem to have all of the right pieces in the formation they are using. I still think part of this is AVB (…not a huge fan).
I don’t know when Dembele is supposed to come back, but this would be a real improvement. Oh wait, just as I type this, he’s about to come on!
Interesting stat – they just said that Spurs are unbeaten in the 7 games Dembele has played for them
adebayor seems really sluggish also. i’ll keep watching, i also like dembele. i hope something starts to click for them. thankfully they have two great keepers.
Dempsey was useless today, again. Man, it hurts watching him struggle so much…
This team really needs Dembele…
