UEFA Champions League: A Look Ahead

Chelsea enjoyed an outstanding start to the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League campaigns, but a recent slump has suddenly slowed down the Blues and threatens to cost them dearly if they don’t win today’s Champions League clash vs. Shakhtar Donetsk.

One of the pleasant surprises of the group stage, Shakhtar can book their place in the knockout round with a victory against Chelsea. The Ukrainians beat Chelsea at home in the last match day, but they will face  a tougher task at Stamford Bridge.

If Chelsea stumbles again, it could open the door for Juventus to jump past them in Group E. Juve settled for a disappointing draw vs. Nordsjaelland last time out, but they will be heavily favored to take all three points when they face the Danish champion in Turin.

Barcelona and Manchester United will be looking to keep their group stage records perfect, and secure their places in the Round of 16, with victories today. Barcelona takes on Celtic in Scotland in a match that won’t be easy for the Spanish powerhouse, while United travels to Portugal to take on a Braga side that pushed them to the brink in the last match day.
