For all the success Manchester United has had in the past decade, one sore spot for the English club has been the team’s inability to win an FA Cup.
The Red Devils have gone nine years since last lifting the FA Cup, a streak they will look to move toward snapping when they face West Ham United today in a match airing on national television (Noon, FOX).
The Mexican League is back in full swing, with Club American facing Monterrey in one of the day’s more high-profile match-ups. Herculez Gomez and Santos Laguna will take on San Luis in another match-up to watch.

So, you know how every once in awhile you see something live and have to go back and watch it again just to make sure you actually saw what you thought you saw? Yeah, the Giggs to RVP goal was one of those moments.
no kidding his control of that ball before taking the shot was impressive. i was never a fan of van persie –i knew he was good- until he xfrd to united. he’s incredible.
RVP and Giggs just connected on a goal that songs should be written about. RVP’s first touch on a 50 yard screaming long ball was godlike.
sounds intense
quite a description
You’ve got to see it. Any hyperbole is completely appropriate in this case. So good.
Giggs to van Persie. Wow.
Seeing Danny Potts makes u wonder what could have been if dad had stayed in the US a little bit longer.
Seriously.
Maybe I would have had the courage to tell her what was in my heart. We could have built a life together, full of children and laughter. Oh, dearest Isabel, I weep for you even now.
I can’t decide whether that was funny or completely unwarranted. Leaning towards completely unwarranted.
Nah, it was funny. Lighten up.
Thoughts with Will Packwood who apparently suffered a very serious injury today and was stretchered off with oxygen.
Well that sucks for the U.S. U-20’s now! Thoughts are with young Packwood.
Best guess is a broken leg. Live Blog commentator heard the “snap” up in the box. Players around had their heads in their hands.
latest update is broken both tib and fib
Did you say, BOTH?
both……that was the latest suggestion from Birmingham
Awful news, let’s hope there isn’t any additional ligament damage in the ankle or knee. Bone breaks are fairly straight forward to deal with. The recovery is time consuming but usually 100% Wish him well.
Terrible news, but is he U20 anymore? I dont think he is.
turns 20 I think in May
He would have been in the side. Let’s hope he can recover and get his career back, at least.
Ugh that is terrible, Will Packwood is our second best young CB prospect after John Anthony Brooks. Hopefully he can get his career back on track.
Anyone who reads more about this please keep us updated.
This is the first time I’ve listened to a soccer game on the radio, and I must say it’s pretty enjoyable.
Fulham v Blackpool, the bow-legged Greece Captain Giorgios Karagounis tied it up at 1-1 in the 80th minute which what was described as a terrific finish, outside the box to the top left corner.
And we have a replay! Gentlemen Jim is pretty convinced their goal was aided by a handball, we’ll see on replay. We seemed to control the game though, but of course only the goals matter.
The only bonus of a replay is maybe it gets televised. I love this radio announcer. He kept calling Blackpool’s uniforms horrendous haha.
Gentlemen Jim mind you
Demba Ba has two. **** off, Torres.
Torres is still sitting and Lampard is warming up. Not a good sign for Torres.
i love u Dempseeeey
seriously Hollywood needs to make a movie about him. This dude has changed what people thought anout American soccer players
that sounds like a box-office failure, terrible idea
yikes…you’re kind of scaring me
Personally, I think it’s a great idea. But lets see where he ends up over his career then talk about movies.
Relax people not like he is Cristiano Ronaldo playing on Madrid or Messi at Barcelona. Hollywood is going to make a movie about a superstar player unless there is some angle to the story.
Lichaj starts for Villa (in what clearly is not a first choice 11). 1-0 Ipswich. BBC match tracker gives the goal to Michael Chopra, but I’ve seen suggestions on a Villa forum that it could be a Lichaj OG. Given has apparently been busy in goal since Ipswich scored.
Now seeing reports that the goal went in off of Cieran Clark. Bent has equalized just after half time.
1 Bale to Deuce. 2 Deuce to Bale. 3 Bale to Deuce. Not a bad partnership growing between the two.
Let’s hope Bale isn’t sold then.
Agreed. Cant see him staying past the summer but hopefully he sees the season out.
He’s not being sold. Spurs are pushing for Champions League and he just signed a new deal.
Bale and Dempsey have not spent much time on the field together in the last few weeks because of Clint’s injury, but it seemed clear to me during November and early December that they get on well together and that Bale, who is an incredible talent, respects Dempsey and like playing with him.
(Now would be the time for the Fulham trolls to swoop in and start bad-mouthing Dempsey. But I have a feeling we won’t be hearing much from them today :-))
Would it be trolling to point out that one shouldn’t read too much into this Spurs performance today given they are playing a League 1 side?
No it’s not trolling Addick. League 1 in England is Division 3.
There were some Spurs’ fans that were skeptical about Deuce’s talent..But I think Dempsey was pretty respected around the EPL among the players before joining the Spurs.
Come on, biff, give it a rest. No one around here bad mouths Dempsey, and you know it.
C’mon biff, you know people have short memories around here…
Spurs up 3-0. Deuce with two goals. Third was scored by Bale after Clint’s shot was deflected in to his path.
He’s gettin it done today!
Highlights anyone? I can’t find anything.
Dempsey with another. 3-0 Tottenham
Apparently Deuce assisted on the 2nd as well?
It’s weird to see Demba Ba in blue this morning.
and he ties it up 1-1 with southampton in the 36th
GOAL Clint Dempsey on a tap-in from Bale!
Dempsey finished from close range to put Spurs up 1-0.
is a hat trick too much to ask for?
“Club American”? I thought at first that was a reference to Xolos.
it looks like newcastle is going to be in a real religation battle this season, now that they dont have the services of demba ba, and their version of stu holden, ben arfa, is out. tottenham have assou ekotto back and that should be a boost to deuces production, maybe even a boon.
hope Clint scores today
Wish granted. Demspey just scored!
Viola, at 14 minutes
Dempsey and Friedel start for Spurs against Coventry.
Cameron starts for Stoke against Crystal Palace, Edu again fails to make the 18.
Anyone know where I could find a feed for Spurs v Coventry? I checked firstrowsports and they don’t have one posted. Any help would be much appreciated.
I doubt you’ll find one. Only a small handful of the Cup matches are televised (and I don’t think the Spurs match is one of those handful).
Doubt it…only a few are on TV and if they are FoxSoccer would likely have it in some capacity, on air or online.
I’m listening to the Fulham radio feed on their website for their game v Blackpool. Fulham is dominating but no score with their first choice lineup in.
